Advising

Regular advising is especially important for interdisciplinary majors, such as Urban Studies, where many courses require prerequisites and are often offered only once per year.  Each Urban Studies major is required to meet with his or her advisor prior to registering for classes.  You will not be able to register until you meet with your advisor and he or she lifts the hold on your account.

Close contact with your advisor will also enable you to gain information about special topics courses that are periodically offered in URST and other related majors.

Carefully chosen special topics courses provide a great way for students to individualize their degrees.
